Today, we have another important decision within the framework of the initiative to procure American weapons – an additional 500 million from our friends in Northern Europe: Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The implementation will be coordinated with NATO through the Prioritised Ukraine Requirement List. I thank @SwedishPM Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of Norway @jonasgahrstore, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen @Statsmin, and @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte. This is a very strong initiative that significantly boosts our ability to protect lives. Yesterday, there was a €500 million contribution from the Netherlands; today, another half-billion dollars in support. This will be felt. And it will serve as a strong example for other NATO countries to strengthen the security ties between America and Europe and to ensure protection from Russian strikes. We equally value the major contribution of our Nordic partners not only in the supply of weapons but also in developing our joint defense production and enhancing Ukraine’s own defense industry capacity. These steps are a new, real foundation for long-term security across all of Europe.
