Suddenly broken cryptographic primitives are not a threat to bitcoin. It’s a threat to humanity. Quantum is not a real threat to bitcoin because it’s happening slowly enough to upgrade beforehand (5+ years). And if it happens too fast, civilization breaks down anyways.(Joe Burnett, MSBA)
