Wu learned that Arkham has disclosed for the first time the on chain identity information of the LuBian hacker. The incident occurred in December 2020, with a total of 127426 BTC stolen, making it the largest cryptocurrency theft case to date. Hackers still hold all stolen assets to this day, and Arkham pointed out that LuBian may have used a vulnerable private key generation algorithm, which constitutes a critical vulnerability. The latest on chain activity by hackers occurred in July 2024, suspected of merging their held addresses; Meanwhile, LuBian still holds 11886 BTC, currently worth approximately $1.35 billion.
