As always, a substantive and very good conversation with Canada’s Prime Minister @MarkJCarney. I expressed my thanks for the support of our people – military and financial assistance, sanctions against Russia. We discussed our current needs, foremost the strengthening of air defense with additional systems and missiles, as well as increased funding for joint drone production, especially interceptors. We also talked about sanctions against Russia. In Moscow they fear them deeply, even though they pretend it doesn’t move the needle. Our intelligence data tells a completely different story. That’s why it’s crucial to increase sanctions pressure and force the aggressor toward peace. We will ensure the necessary steps are taken. We discussed the outcomes of the recent meeting in Istanbul, where the Ukrainian delegation yet again emphasized the need for a ceasefire. The killing and strikes on civilian and critical infrastructure must stop. We are still waiting for a response to our proposal to hold a leader-level meeting. I’m grateful to Canada for supporting my bill that guarantees the independence and effectiveness of Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies and prevents any Russian influence or interference in the work of our anti-corruption infrastructure. Mark and I share the same view: it is now essential that the Verkhovna Rada adopt this bill in full on July 31.(Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський)
