Elon Musk's Neuralink joins bionic eye research

According to Golden Finance, Neuralink, a brain computer interface company under Musk, is collaborating with researchers in California and Spain to conduct a clinical trial on visual prostheses. The news of Neuralink's participation in the trial was disclosed in late July on ClinicalTrials, a government website that lists medical research. This study was sponsored by the University of California, Santa Barbara. According to online descriptions, the goal of this research is to "solve the fundamental problem of developing intelligent bionic eyes". Researchers say that this device will use artificial intelligence to help blind people recognize faces, navigate outdoors, read, and more.
