Cosmos Townhall July Summary
-ICL has cancelled the planned Hub EVM
-Just cancelled the strategy of building smart contracts on the Hub, but Cosmos EVM remains the focus of development.
-Abandoning hub means giving up competition with Solana, Base, and other large smart contract protocols
-They see a large market that already exists and is constantly growing, which is more suitable for Cosmos itself
-It is the trend of enterprises going live on the blockchain (whether it is Coinbase earlier or Robin Good recently)
-And among these enterprises, companies like Ripple, TON, Babylon, Ondo, Tether, etc. have all chosen the Cosmos technology stack. Major institutions are quietly adopting Cosmos. Bank of Japan is potentially using IBC to replace SWIFT
-Real business, real money. The real opportunity
-They are making every effort to bring enterprises onto the chain, including central banks, payment networks, governments, and financial institutions.
-Cosmos already has over 150 blockchains, while its competitors have less than 20. Ondo has $16 billion in real-world assets. Major banks are piloting IBC for cross-border payments. Used by real enterprises.
-EVM development is still ongoing as enterprises require it
-IBC Eureka continues to expand.
-Teams like Stride continue to receive full support.
-ATOM remains the monetization layer for everything (as a target)
-In the next three months,
It is expected to conduct in-depth customer research, pilot projects in collaboration with major institutions, and brand reshaping of the ecosystem. They have returned to the start-up mode. Test, learn, and build what customers truly want to pay for.
-Enterprises pay real money and silver, and they value long-term partnerships rather than quick transactions
-Cosmos is the only ecosystem that has been centered around sovereignty from the very beginning.
