According to Cointelegraph, a batch of confiscated Bitcoin disposed of by the Bulgarian government in 2018 has exceeded the country's total public debt at current market prices. These 2135000 bitcoins were seized in 2017 when combating organized crime. They were sold for about 3.5 billion dollars at that time. If they were held until now, they would be worth 25.2 billion dollars -5% higher than the size of the country's latest $24 billion treasury bond, which made Bulgaria miss an excellent debt repayment opportunity.
