According to the AXIOS website, three informed sources revealed that US Secretary of State Rubio and the foreign ministers of France, Germany, and the UK had a phone call yesterday and decided to set the end of August as the actual deadline for reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran. If an agreement cannot be reached before the deadline, the three major European powers plan to activate the "quick recovery" mechanism, automatically re implementing all sanctions lifted by the United Nations Security Council under the 2015 Iran deal. It takes 30 days to activate the 'rapid recovery' mechanism, and Europe hopes to complete this process before Russia takes over the rotating presidency of the United Nations Security Council in October.
