OpenAI delays open model release again

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the company has once again postponed the release of its open model, originally scheduled for next week, and will indefinitely extend the delay time to allow for more security testing. Altman said, "Once the model weights are released, they cannot be retrieved. We want to ensure that every aspect is done to the best of our ability." It is reported that the model will allow developers to download and run it locally for free, and it is OpenAI's first open model launched in recent years. Previously, it was reported that the model is comparable in reasoning ability to OpenAI's O-series models and is planned to become the best in its class.
