At the 49th Regular Meeting of the Conference of CARICOM Heads of Government, we unanimously adopted the Montego Bay Declaration on Transnational Organized Crime and Gangs, a clear signal of our region’s united stance against criminal networks that threaten our security and development.
We were honoured to welcome His Excellency Valdecy de Urquiza e Silva Junior, Secretary General of Interpol, and reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and expanding our access to Interpol’s global intelligence and enforcement capabilities.
We also welcomed His Excellency Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), with whom we explored avenues for renewed and enhanced collaboration, particularly in the areas of citizen security, governance, and institutional strengthening.
These engagements reflect our deepening partnerships with global institutions and our shared determination to confront crime with unified, coordinated strategies that protect our people and preserve our future.
