Prime Minister Holness Calls for Strategic Afro-Caribbean Partnership to Unlock Shared Prosperity.
Jamaica has officially joined the Partnership Agreement with Afreximbank, alongside our CARICOM partners. This strategic move significantly strengthens our region’s access to trade financing, investment capital, and development support, key drivers of economic growth and transformation.
The agreement was signed by our Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, and Mr. Okechukwu Ihejirika, representative of Afreximbank.
This partnership deepens our engagement with Africa, reviving historic connections and creating new pathways for commerce, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
As Chair of CARICOM, I was also honoured to declare open the Africa-Caribbean Trade and Investment Symposium and the African Village, both of which symbolize our collective vision to strengthen ties with the African continent.
Jamaica remains active, engaged, and forward-facing, building bridges of cooperation that secure economic opportunities for our people.
