A man in Michigan faces up to 10 years in prison for using cryptocurrency to fund terrorist organizations

According to the plea agreement, in February 2023, Pratt voluntarily spoke with a confidential individual whom he believed could assist him in going abroad and joining ISIS. In the following months, Pratt expressed his desire to join ISIS and recorded a video swearing allegiance. In March and May 2023, Pratt sent cryptocurrency to classified individuals with the intention of using the money to help support violent acts. The verdict will be announced on November 13, 2025, and Jibreel Pratt faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $250000, or both.
