There's been a lot of commentary on the low quality of CT content these days.
"SocialFi destroyed CT"
"It's all AI slop"
"KOLs are lame now"
I think the reality is that there isn't much to talk about right now. Crypto markets are doing ok in certain areas (BTC, stablecoin adoption, Coinbase/Robinhood stock prices), but there's no large onchain meta dominating right now. We're in a lull period in activity and creativity.
People are posting the same content repetitively because there's an itch to tweet and farm engagement (dopamine), but nothing of note to post about. SocialFi platforms magnify these issues by incentivizing repetitive slop, but I don't think it's the root cause for the quality degradation.
CT has traditionally done well when a large crypto-native meta is taking off (DeFi, NFTs, chain debates, memecoins, AI coins), and right now there isn't really much happening. I can't fault KOLs for not having great content right now - it's the equivalent of turning water into wine. I strongly believe that once we see an interesting onchain project takeoff, we'll get back to seeing informative threads and thought pieces.
