Nothing will reduce Federal Government spending because, sadly, this cynical statement about Massie is true.
Principle is not rewarded, but punished, in Washington. It drives everyone to the middle, to compromise, and to ultimately reflect the average American voter, who is deeply unfit to rule the lives of others.
Massie is a hero, and the world needs more of him, but the game theory is what it is.
The problem is not who is in power. It is not solved by voting. The biggest opportunity to reduce government spending in my lifetime just occurred... and spending went up.
The problem is the power itself. The problem is the institution of state and society's accession to it.
It is solved by secession from it.
The Founding Fathers of America lived this experience, understanding this phenomena, 250 years ago.
Secession, aka decentralization, is the solution.
Mental secession—realizing politics is futile/deranged and no longer participating in the scam
Financial secession—disconnecting from state money (fiat) into market-based alternatives (bitcoin)
Literal secession—which starts to become realistic after the sovereign bond market collapses, and the game theory changes.
