The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has rejected Pakistan's proposal to provide electricity price subsidies for Bitcoin mining, citing reasons such as increased burden on the power system, legal risks, and potential market disruption. At present, the Pakistani government is still in communication with international organizations to adjust the plan. Previously, Pakistan announced plans to allocate 2000 megawatts of electricity for cryptocurrency mining and AI data centers to attract foreign investment, led by the Ministry of Finance and the Pakistan Cryptocurrency Commission.
