This afternoon I visited @LyondellBasell, a chemical firm with 1,800 employees in the Netherlands. I was a guest at their Botlek site, one of the world’s largest facilities of its kind, located at the nexus of many pipelines serving the chemical industry. I learned how the different companies in the Botlek industrial area are connected, and how they supply products and energy to each other, as LyondellBasell does with firms like Nobian and @uniper_energy. We also discussed ways of making the industry more sustainable, and industry concerns about grid congestion, high energy prices and nitrogen emissions – subjects we hold regular talks on with a wide range of stakeholders.
