Stablecoin startup financing boom hits new high, surpassing 2021 peak

According to a report by Golden Finance, driven by Circle's successful listing and regulatory clarity, the stablecoin and payment sectors recorded 43 and 42 venture capital transactions respectively in the third and fourth quarters of 2024, setting a new quarterly high. The number of transactions for the year exceeded the 2021 high for the first time. In the first quarter of 2025, this field accounted for 7.5% of all venture capital transactions. The profit model and sustainable development of stablecoin infrastructure have attracted a large amount of traditional institutional funds, while regulatory developments such as the GENIUS Act in the United States have further boosted investor confidence, making stablecoins one of the few cryptocurrency tracks to surpass the data from the previous bull market.
