On June 25th, BlockBeats learned through multiple sources that the pardon of Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) has been approved by Trump. In March of this year, The Wall Street Journal reported that Binance was discussing injecting funds into the Trump family's cryptocurrency project, World Liberty Financial, in exchange for CZ amnesty. At the same time, it was stated that the Trump family has been in talks to invest in Binance's US subsidiary Binance.us. However, CZ denied it at that time. In May of this year, CZ announced that it had applied for a pardon from Trump. In May 2024, CZ was sentenced to four months in prison for money laundering violations and violating US sanctions in a US federal court, and was released in September. Although CZ has completed his sentence and paid a huge fine, the presidential pardon will not completely eliminate the charges, but it can restore some rights, such as allowing CZ to return to Binance's management.
