ZachXBT: New York scammer impersonates Coinbase customer service to steal over $4 million, most of it squandered on high stakes gambling
According to on chain detective ZachXBT, New York social engineering fraudster Christian Nieves (pseudonym Daytwo/PawsOnHips) set up a small call center to impersonate Coinbase customer service, guiding users to create Coinbase wallets containing accused seeds on phishing websites, and has stolen over $4 million in user funds.
His accomplice Paranoia (Justin) once fraudulently obtained $240000 from an elderly victim in November 2024, with some funds flowing into the Roobet platform and the rest converted into XMR. He publicly revealed his Roobet account "Pawsonhips" and leaked his wallet address during a Discord call, indicating that it is frequently used for online gambling.
