BlockBeats News: On June 19th, Jan Hatzius, Chief Economist of Goldman Sachs, predicted that Trump would not restart "equivalent tariffs" on July 9th. Hazus hinted at an event at the conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute that the White House is more likely to extend negotiations with trading partners rather than strictly enforcing the July 9th deadline. The Hatzus team estimates that the overall tariff rate in the United States has increased by about 10 percentage points this year. We expect an additional 4 to 5 percentage points due to targeted tariffs of 25% on industries such as semiconductors, communication equipment, pharmaceuticals, and copper. This is a significant additional tax that we believe will still be implemented
