Senate Judiciary Top Democrat/Minority Whip Dick Durbin following this morning's first Senate security briefing by the Senate Sergeant at Arms & U.S. Capitol Police since the shooting of MN state lawmakers & Senator Padilla's removal from DHS Secretary Noem's press briefing in LA: "It was a sobering presentation on the question of the assassination and the vulnerability of many people in public life today. I would say that it calls for action and this committee is going to be at the heart of it. We are responsible for oversight for the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and I believe that we will be called on to consider legislation on this subject in very timely fashion."
