As a father and as a Jamaican, I care deeply about the future of our young men. I want my sons, and all the young men of Jamaica, to grow up to be productive, law-abiding citizens, strong fathers, and leaders in their communities. But, too many of our young men are being lost to violence, and this cannot continue. I appeal to those who believe they can pick up a gun, commit crimes, and go unnoticed, understand this, we will find you. Put down the gun. Choose life. The Government of Jamaica is resolute, we will eliminate every gang, track down every contract killer, and dismantle every network importing illegal firearms into our country. This is not rhetoric; this is a national mandate. Jamaica is at a critical inflection point in our fight against crime. Since 2016, we have invested over J90 billion in national security, three times more than what was spent in the nine years prior by the previous administrations. We are at the tipping point where the reward of our efforts must now exceed the sacrifice. Let there be no misunderstanding, this Government will not relent until peace and safety are secured for every Jamaican.
