Federal Reserve Messenger: Zooming in, the US unemployment rate is actually on the rise

According to a report by Jin Shi, Nick Timiraos, the "voice tube" of the Federal Reserve, stated in an article that the unemployment rate in May rose from 4.187% in April to 4.244%, without rounding data. The highest unemployment rate last year occurred in November 2024, at 4.231%. It can be said that the May unemployment rate in the United States was the highest level (not rounded) since October 2021 (when it was 4.500%).
