New Chrome zero day vulnerability exploited, Google releases emergency out of band patch

According to The Hacker News, Google has urgently released a Chrome browser security update to patch the high-risk zero day vulnerability CVE-225-5419 that has been exploited in the wild. The vulnerability exists in the V8 JavaScript engine and was discovered by Google Threat Analysis Group (TAG). The attacker has exploited this vulnerability through a malicious HTML page. It is recommended that users upgrade to Chrome versions 137.0.7151.68/.69 (for Windows and macOS) and 137.0.7151.68 (for Linux) to prevent potential threats. Meanwhile, it is also recommended that users of Chromium based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi apply patches promptly when they are available.
