South Korean police have arrested a Russian man in Busan on suspicion of participating in a violent robbery at a hotel in Seoul's Jiangxi district on May 21, attempting to seize 1 billion Korean won (approximately 730000 US dollars) in cash through disguised cryptocurrency transactions. The suspect lured 10 South Korean men to a hotel using P2P transactions as bait, and two of them were taken to their rooms where they were attacked. The suspect used tools such as simulation guns and extendable batons, and prepared bulletproof vests and cash counters. One of the victims escaped and reported to the police, while the suspect fled without grabbing any cash. The police have pursued fugitives through Interpol, and the investigation is still ongoing.
