According to NetEase News, OpenAI plans to open an office in Seoul, South Korea in the coming months and is recruiting employees to support collaboration with businesses and policy makers. This will be the company's third office in Asia. OpenAI's Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon stated that the growth of ChatGPT users in South Korea has been "exceptionally rapid," with the weekly active user count increasing by 4.5 times in the past year. He also pointed out that South Korea has the highest number of ChatGPT paying users outside of the United States.
