💵 The unprofitable business model is unethical: On the failure of CoinTool
As mentioned earlier, XEN can be called a divine mine. It has been mined for two years and has not collapsed (of course, the profits are far less lucrative than before).
Today we're not talking about XEN mining, we're talking about the issue of the XEN batch Mint tool at @ intool becoming ineffective.
Currently, I have an account on Cointool's XEN tool with approximately 25000 addresses.
This has led to a serious issue where, at some point, Cointool's XEN tool page is no longer loading correctly for accounts with so many addresses.
No matter how hard you try, it always fails (staying at a progress rate of 6%).
This is really distressing.
Last time I received it, I had to study the official method of directly calling smart contracts, but the parameters in the tutorial did not match my actual needs (the tutorial only claimed, but I wanted to resubmit).
The last test was unsuccessful, so it's worth claiming it directly.
This time, after multiple rounds of communication with Gemini, I wrote a Python program specifically designed to generate the required call parameters, which ultimately led to the successful claim and resubmission.
How do I feel?
As a third-party tool of XEN, CoinTool claims to be free, but what is the result? Poor maintenance and poor user experience.
On the other hand, @ mctxyz charges a fixed fee (0.003 ETH, approximately 10) for each reinvestment, and the page has been used smoothly without any problems so far.
What problem does it indicate?
Free is not a good business model and is often unsustainable (no one is willing to continue generating electricity for love).
In the end, it can only be a lose lose outcome.
Of course, we should not go to extremes, such as XenMiner produced by @ CryptoCellLabs, which claims to be the industry's most gas efficient and charges 0.01 ETH per reinvestment, close to 30.
What was the result? Perhaps due to the high fees and limited user base, the website is now in a state of disrepair and bug infestations.
So much so that every time I have to pinch my nose and give out a fee of 0.01 ETH, I feel like I shouldn't have chosen another product back then.
Business is actually simple:
Creating products that are user-friendly and meet user needs, and then charging appropriately, for a long time, how fortunate it is.
