According to Cointelegraph, 35 members of the United States House of Representatives have jointly sent a letter to the Department of Justice, requesting an investigation into President Trump's private dinner for TRUMP Meme coin holders on May 22, accusing them of potentially violating the Constitution's "foreign pay clause" and federal anti bribery laws. Legislators pointed out that the majority of attendees were suspected foreign citizens, and this undisclosed contact could become a channel for foreign governments to influence US policies. The Democratic Party is pushing for two pieces of legislation simultaneously: 1) restricting high-level government officials and their relatives from accessing cryptocurrencies; 2) Add amendments to the GENIUS Act targeting stablecoin platforms associated with the Trump family. Legal experts point out that if the Ministry of Justice determines that the dinner constitutes a transfer of foreign interests, it may trigger constitutional litigation.
