Analysis: Manus open registration is difficult to stir up waves, expensive price+no Chinese version difficult to leverage the domestic market

PANews|May 20, 2025 07:04
According to Blue Media, the AI Agent product Manus announced full registration on May 12th, but did not provide a Chinese version, indicating that its focus is still on overseas markets. Manus incurs high costs due to the lack of local computing, the use of Claude models, and cloud operation. Currently, it adopts a point based billing model, resulting in high daily usage costs for users. Although we have collaborated with Tongyi Qianwen, the Chinese version is still far away due to regulatory constraints and the willingness of domestic users to pay. In the free competition environment of domestic AI giants, Manus finds it difficult to "harvest" users. Currently, Manus has secured $75 million in financing from investors including Benchmark, Tencent, Sequoia, and others, and plans to continue its efforts in the US, Japan, and Middle East markets.
