Polygon warns: Scammers use AI technology to forge personal image videos, targeting encryption startups

According to Cryptoslate, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal recently revealed that scammers use AI technology to forge his image videos and carry out scams against startups in the cryptocurrency industry. The fraudster first hacked into the Telegram account of Shreyash Singh, the head of Polygon Ventures, and then contacted startups within the ecosystem to induce victims to attend Zoom meetings under the pretext of investment negotiations. During the meeting, scammers used AI generated images of Nailwal, Singh, and fictional team members (without audio interaction) and lured attendees into installing malicious software development kits. Nailwal stated that several entrepreneurs have sought confirmation from him regarding the authenticity of the conference. Nailwal advises community members not to install unfamiliar software in unauthorized interactions, and emphasizes the importance of operating standards, calling on encrypted users to separate wallet signature activities from daily device use.
