🧐 The more you brush, the more confused you become: Some real suggestions from me about Binance Alpha's point brushing mechanism | The point brushing mechanism should not make users become researchers—— 5 Slot Points and Suggestions on Binance Alpha Points Mechanism: I am one of the deep participants in this round of Alpha activity, and I am also observing and recording many users' behavior and feedback in daily life. The currently designed mechanism of "rolling 15 days+airdrop consumption+growth comparison" is a reasonable solution with anti witch capabilities. But with the first round of airdrops landing, many communities, including myself, have fallen into confusion and perplexity; I have tried to summarize the underlying issues and provide several suggestions for the team's reference. There are many doubts and shortcomings, but they are all sincere suggestions; If you have any other suggestions, please add them together in the comment section. We hope Binance can develop better and make more money @heyibinance @cz_binance @binancezh one ️⃣ The scoring system is too complex: The triple combination of rolling 15 days, airdrop deduction the next day, and expired points mechanism, to be honest, I haven't studied it all night and I can't figure it out at all. Many people can't figure out how to deduct it. It's difficult for anyone to clean such a complex system, Sincerely suggest making some simplifications, as it becomes increasingly complex and difficult for the general public to understand, calculate, and brush. This situation can easily lead to abandonment, as a good game can easily become a endgame. two ️⃣ There is a problem of 'high uncertain costs': The rule changes are too frequent, and the biggest problem now is the issue of "high uncertainty costs". I continue to invest (tasks, balance hanging, transactions, etc.), but I don't know how much the final airdrop can be worth. Investment is an expectation for the future. If my expectation is vague, I will give up this profit, causing users to fall into a psychological gap of "investment>return", which is also the end of a game; Regarding the above 1 ️⃣ And 2 ️⃣ Suggestions: 1) Clearly disclose the minimum point threshold for the next round of airdrops, or provide a floating range; 2) Add a prompt column for "expected airdrop shares" to enhance participation; 3) Add "My Historical Points Change Chart"/"15 Day Window Chart" to help understand; three ️⃣ There are "fatigue" and threshold anxiety caused by score brushing: Why can't we find a way to design games that are easier, with a daily score of at least 17, and the long-term cost of persistence is not low. Once one day falls behind or the task is interrupted, it will affect the subsequent collection, causing a sense of frustration of "all previous efforts being in vain", which is very uncomfortable. four ️⃣ From a design perspective, there are issues with overfitting, anti brushing, and low excitation release; That's how I see this issue. No matter how Binance does this, it's always right for the platform to gain traffic and users, But we still need to think from the user's perspective: Our mechanism design is fine, but this system of 'getting stuck if you don't brush accurately enough' will only motivate a very small number of 'score boosting experts', rather than the general participants. five ️⃣ Lack of a "new user compensation mechanism" can easily lead to old players monopolizing the advantage: The current system encourages' the earlier the entry, the better ', but there is no optimized path for new users who join midway. Ultimately, it may become a closed system where 'old users snowball and new users cannot afford it'. Regarding the above 4 ️⃣ And 5 ️⃣ Suggestions: 1) Introduce a "points repurchase pool" mechanism, setting up forms such as exchanging points for NFTs or lucky draws; 2) Set a "reset cycle" mechanism, such as resetting the points window to zero/re ranking every 30 days; 3) Give new users 1-3 days of "novice points bonus" and set a "basic guarantee reward" for early participants to avoid emotional FUD spreading, form a fair starting line while soothing old users; 4) Allow users to choose "give up airdrop once for reset points" and return to the furnace to fight again; Finally, let's summarize the point boosting system of Binance Alpha: 1) Advantages: Dynamic and persistent, preventing airdrop hunters from taking advantage and leaving immediately. Technically, it is relatively fair, and long-term investors have advantages. 2) Problem point: High complexity+opaque benefits → unequal costs; Scoring is labor-intensive and lacks emotional motivation, leading to easy fatigue; Lack of compensation mechanism for new users → Abandonment by latecomers; Web3 incentives should be about "triggering participation" rather than "testing patience". In the future, if the distribution logic of points leads to "laggards being eliminated" and new users being difficult to catch up with, it will become a dead end; What we can see now is that the more complex the points, the smaller the airdrop, the more obsessed the calculation, and the worse the community sentiment. Especially for a platform as large as Binance, once there is a group of "idle" users, it is easy to form FUD, which is actually harmful to the Alpha brand. These are all heartfelt words, hoping to inspire everyone and Binance!
