According to BlockBeats, on May 10th, three teenagers in Florida were accused of kidnapping a man at gunpoint and taking him to a remote desert area an hour's drive away from Las Vegas, stealing $4 million worth of cryptocurrency and other digital assets. Belal Ashraf and Austin Fletcher, both 16 years old, from Pasco County, along with another teenager, are facing charges including robbery, kidnapping, and extortion, according to records. A juvenile court judge had previously identified Ashraf and Fletcher as adults. Prosecutors stated during Fletcher's reasonable grounds hearing on Friday that the third teenager is no longer in the United States. Prosecutors claim that these individuals are accused of stealing $4 million worth of cryptocurrency and NFTs. Last November, a man reported to the police that three young people had kidnapped him at gunpoint, taken him to a remote desert area, and stolen millions of dollars in assets from him, according to documents. That night, the victim held a cryptocurrency related event at a company in downtown Las Vegas, according to the police. The victim then returned to their apartment building and parked their car. The three suspects immediately approached him and forced him into the back seat of their vehicle. The document states: "The victim was told that if he cooperated, he could live until the next day; if he didn't cooperate, they had already taken control of his father and would kill him." "A towel was draped over the victim's head, and the suspect warned him not to look at them The police stated that these young people requested the victim to provide a password and threatened him to gain access to their financial accounts. The victim can still hear through the phone speaker, and the suspect appears to be in a direct conversation with another person over the phone. The police suspect that these three young people subsequently took the victim to the White Mountain area of Arizona, which is over 70 miles away from Las Vegas and a one hour drive away. The victim walked five miles alone in the desert to reach a gas station, from where he called a friend to pick him up.
