According to the Ministry of Commerce, in response to the recent frequent signals from the United States regarding tariff adjustments and actively seeking contact with China, China has decided to agree to contact and will be led by Vice Premier He Lifeng to Switzerland from May 9th to 12th for economic and trade talks with US Treasury Secretary Bessent. The Chinese side emphasizes that negotiations must be conducted on the basis of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit, and will never accept coercive behavior under the guise of negotiations. China's position is firm, both willing to accompany to the end and open its doors to uphold international fairness, justice, and multilateral trade order.
