According to The Block, Paul Atkins, the new chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated during his inauguration ceremony on Tuesday that he will provide a clear regulatory foundation for digital assets, adopting a "rational, coherent, and principled" regulatory approach. This marks a significant shift in the direction of SEC regulation, in stark contrast to the harsh attitude of his predecessor Gary Gensler. Atkins emphasized, "Under the leadership of the SEC, I can confidently say that this is a new era." The SEC has established a cryptocurrency working group to hold roundtable discussions aimed at bringing greater regulatory clarity to the cryptocurrency sector.
