Pantera Capital Solana: What Makes SOL Largest Investment of the Firm

Pantera Capital, one of the world’s major crypto investment firms, has made Sol its biggest investment, holding $1.1 billion in the cryptocurrency. Founder Dan Morehead told CNBC that over the past four years, Solana has performed better than Bitcoin, which is why it is now Pantera’s top crypto bet.

Pantera Capital Solana Bet: Why is it Special?

Morehead explained that Solana-network is fast, low-cost, and highly efficient, which makes it ideal for handling large scale transactions. This includes areas like DeFi (Decentralized Finance), NFTs, and other blockchains-based applications. He believes that out of all the cryptocurrencies, only a few, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, have the potential for a long run succeeding.

As for Solana’s current market look, it is trading around $235, showing a weekly gain of 9.6% but a small drop of 2.7% in the past 24 hours most probably because the Fed rate decision meeting is approaching.

Morehead’s View on Bitcoin

Even though Pantera is investing heavily in Sol , Morehead remains optimistic about Bitcoin. He predicts that bitcoin could reach $750,000 within the next 4 to 5 years. It’s going to be a major milestone as the digital asset is currently labelled at ~$115,649.

In addition to that, he also points out that, despite its popularity, BTC still makes up only a small percentage of the total global wealth, leaving plenty of room for growth.

A New Solana-Treasury Company

In a related move, Pantera Capital has partnered with Helius Medical Technologies and Summer Capital to launch a $1.25 billion Solana Digital Treasury (DAT) Company. This company will hold sol-coins and create more opportunities for investors to access the blockchain, including staking, lending, and other profit-making options.
