Since March, the price and market value of TON tokens have been steadily rising. As of May 22, the market value of TON is about 22 billion US dollars, an increase of over 155% since March.

Behind the continuous growth of TON's market value, its ecosystem's small games such as Notcoin and Catizen cannot be underestimated.

According to Jack Booth, the marketing director of the TON Foundation, the number of Notcoin users has increased to 35 million in just three months. The Notcoin token NOT has recently been listed on exchanges such as Binance and OKX, and its market value reached 820 million US dollars within just 1 hour.

On the other hand, the official disclosure from the TON ecosystem's small game Catizen revealed that as of May 17, Catizen has attracted nearly 6 million players, with nearly 500,000 daily active users, 260,000 on-chain users, and an on-chain transaction volume exceeding 2 million.

As one of the widely adopted entry points, Web3 games have always been an area that major public chains cannot ignore. Currently, TON has gained a lot of traffic through Web3 social games. Which other public chain game users are active, and which public chains are actively expanding games?

Ronin still leads, Klaytn's on-chain active users have significantly increased

DappRadar data shows that in April, the number of daily active wallet addresses for Web3 games reached nearly 3 million, hitting a historical high. Ronin and Polygon still carry the majority of the active volume.

TON's Web3 games on the public chain have emerged, which other public chains are also increasing their efforts in the blockchain gaming track?

As an EVM-compatible gaming-specific chain, Ronin, built by the Axie Infinity development team Sky Mavis, has gained a leading position mainly due to the popular Web3 game Pixels. Its dUAW (daily unique active wallet) in April exceeded 790,000, a 45% increase compared to March.

Currently, Ronin has partnered with several globally renowned game studios such as Directive Games, Bali Games, and Tribes Studio.

As one of the previously most popular public chains for games, Polygon's dUAW in April exceeded 557,000, with well-known games on the chain such as Matr1x and QORPO WORLD. However, Polygon still faces the situation of Web3 games leaving the chain.

Since Pixels migrated from Polygon to Ronin at the end of last year, the card game Zoids Wild Arena TCG under the Korean game developer ACT Games also migrated from Polygon to Ronin.

In January of this year, the game Crypto UnICOrns stated that due to the surge in fuel costs on the Polygon network, operating costs have increased and player experience has been compromised, leading to a move to Arbitrum's Xai network.

In March of this year, the Korean game company Nexon revealed that the blockchain version of the game MapleStory Universe has also abandoned Polygon in favor of Avalanche.

In April, with the metaverse game Another World, the public chain Klaytn, which focuses on the metaverse, Gamefi, and creator economy, achieved a growth of 202%.

Klaytn, founded by the famous Korean company Kakao, plans to complete the merger with Finschia, a public chain project under Line, by the end of June and launch the mainnet. The merged mainnet will be renamed kaia, aiming to create the largest Web3 ecosystem in Asia through the merger.

Multiple public chains plan to launch Web3 game incentive funds

Arbitrum

In March, the Arbitrum Foundation announced a game incentive proposal: a plan to invest 200 million ARB (approximately 400 million US dollars) over two years to promote its blockchain-based game projects. The proposal will start on-chain voting on May 24.

In addition, Arbitrum is also advancing the development of Layer3 game chains. After XAI, Polychain Monsters launched the L3 game-specific chain based on Arbitrum Orbit through Altlayer.

Immutable

In addition to Arbitrum, the gaming-specific chain Immutable recently announced the launch of a $50 million Web3 game reward program and revealed that its ecosystem is currently dedicated to developing over 270 games, including notable projects such as Illuvium and MetalCore.

Furthermore, Immutable, King River Capital, and Polygon Labs have jointly launched a $100 million "Inevitable Games Fund," which combines the expertise of the three parties in the gaming and blockchain fields to seek and invest in promising game studios and Web3 infrastructure.

Immutable is also actively building the zkEVM chain system Immutable Nexus to ensure that games built on the Immutable chain (including Immutable zkEVM and dedicated zkEVM) can achieve the best liquidity, security, and accessibility.

Sui

Similar to the TON public chain, Sui is promoting the on-chain Web3 game ecosystem through cooperation with traditional Web2 giants.

Sui recently announced a partnership with BytePlus, a subsidiary of ByteDance, focusing on games and socialfi. BytePlus provides services such as content distribution, personalization, and AR technology to support Sui's developers and promote the development of globally influential applications.

In addition, 5 games will soon be launched on Sui.

Starknet

In March, the Starknet Foundation announced the establishment of a game committee, which consists of six experts whose task is to promote the growth of games on Starknet. The committee's role includes analysis, strategy formulation, and recommendation of plans to expand Starknet's game ecosystem, which will be measured by usage metrics such as daily active users, retention rate, and revenue.

Starknet also donated 2 million STRK to support the on-chain metaverse game Realms.World.

Manta Network

Recently, the game project Elfin, in which Binance Labs has invested, announced its integration into the Manta Network ecosystem, migrating 100,000 blocks of Elfin Land to Manta Pacific and donating 10,000 blocks of land to the Manta Foundation as user incentives.

The Elfin team plans to deploy multiple game projects on the Manta Pacific chain and build game Layer3 based on Manta.

Linea

At the end of February, ConsenSys' Layer2 network Linea launched the Web3 game task Linea Park, with the task partner being Layer3, a Web3 task and bounty platform. Users can experience game projects and earn Linea LXP.

At the end of April, Linea announced on the X platform that during the Linea Park Web3 game task, a total of 48 million tasks were completed, with 1.48 million participating users, 7.9 million visiting users, and 840,000 completed verifications.

Saga

Saga is a modular one-click chain platform for the gaming field based on Cosmos. Saga launched its mainnet in April and subsequently listed on Binance.

Previously, Saga announced the establishment of the Web3 game issuance department Saga Origins to release games for the Saga Layer-1 blockchain protocol.

Tabi Chain

Tabi Chain, a game blockchain built on Cosmos, launched its testnet in March this year and recently announced that it will airdrop 800 million TABI tokens to participants in the Voyager event, GG holders, public sale participants, Captain node holders, ecosystem project builders, testnet contributors, and others.

Oasys

Oasys is also a blockchain designed specifically for games. Recently, Oasys announced a strategic partnership with the well-known South Korean game developer Com2uS, and later collaborated with Metabora SG, the Web3 game department under the South Korean internet giant Kakao.

In addition, the blockchain version of the well-known Japanese soccer manga series "Captain Tsubasa" has been officially launched on the game-centric blockchain Oasys. The game was developed by Mint Town, Co.Ltd. and BLOCKSMITH&Co. (a subsidiary of the mobile game giant KLab Inc.).

Nim Network

Nim Network is an AI game chain built on Dymension. On May 1st, Nim Network launched its mainnet, and Dymension TVL saw a maximum increase of nearly 550% in a single day. Nim Network also introduced staking functionality.

Previously, Nim Network also initiated the AI Game Alliance, with the modular blockchain project Avail on Polygon, the decentralized data sharing protocol OceanProtocol, the on-chain racing platform JokeRace, and the Web3 social simulation game Today all joining the alliance.
