Shaking in my boots! Where does the future of us carbon-based workers lie?
Last night, GPT dropped version 5.5, and Claude seems to have fixed the intelligence downgrade issue in Opus 4.6.
On one hand, global AI models are racing ahead with relentless iterations, while on the other, big companies are announcing layoffs one after another:
Microsoft is offering voluntary retirement buyouts to about 8,750 U.S. employees;
Meta announced layoffs of around 8,000 people, roughly 10% of its workforce;
Nike is reportedly cutting about 1,400 jobs;
Snap is laying off around 1,000 employees;
Disney is also slashing about 1,000 positions.
From tech giants to consumer powerhouses, everyone is rewriting their workforce structure under the banners of "organizational optimization," "efficiency improvement," and "AI transformation."
A long time ago, we asked: Can AI really replace humans?
Now we ask: Do carbon-based workers even have a future??
Shaking in fear...
