Hong Kong police have disclosed a case involving a 'crypto investment expert' scam. A woman in her 50s was approached on Instagram by a scammer who built a relationship with her and then lured her into participating in a so-called 'guaranteed profit' crypto investment. She first paid around HK$40,000 as an account opening fee and then exchanged cash for Tether in seven transactions, transferring it to the scammer's wallet. In the end, she suffered a loss of over HK$2 million, and the scammer subsequently disappeared.
