On March 26, police arrested blockchain entrepreneur Vuong Le Vinh Nhan (also known as Eric Vuong) and six accomplices, accusing them of illegal appropriation of assets and money laundering. Since 2018, the group allegedly created and sold fake cryptocurrencies to investors through a platform called ONUS. The platform, which had millions of Vietnamese users, has been inaccessible since March 20. Police accuse Eric Vuong of promoting fake tokens, manipulating supply and demand, and adjusting prices. Over 140 individuals have been summoned for investigation.
