Xu Zhengyu: The progress of Hong Kong tokenization is moving from the "experimental stage" to the "implementation stage"
Foresight News reported that according to etnet, Hong Kong's Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Eddie Hui, stated that the progress of tokenization in Hong Kong is moving from the "experimental stage" to the "implementation stage". Currently, Hong Kong has gathered over 1400 fintech companies, including 8 virtual banks, 4 virtual insurance companies, and 12 licensed virtual asset trading platforms. In the future, the government will fully leverage its own advantages, build a more complete financial ecosystem, inject new impetus into the development of the financial industry, and adhere to forward-looking strategies. \In addition, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange is committed to launching a pilot program for tokenized warehouse receipt financing next year. The project will collaborate with designated banks to use decentralized ledger technology (DLT) to promote the use of commodity warehouse receipts as collateral. In addition, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange is also establishing a multi asset tokenization platform, which includes bulk commodity warehouse receipts from recognized warehouses.
