[ZachXBT: Organization Suspected of Losing $2.84 Million to North Korea-Linked Group SquidSquad] On-chain investigator ZachXBT posted that an organization was suspected of being targeted by the North Korea-linked group SquidSquad on October 8, losing approximately $2.84 million on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC). According to his tracking, the attackers deposited 1,111.2 ETH into Tornado Cash on October 20, then withdrew the funds to three addresses. They subsequently used USDT0 to bridge the funds from Ethereum to Tron, consolidating them into two addresses. These consolidated addresses were found to have financial links to addresses previously attributed to North Korea. The funds were then routed through intermediary addresses to Chinese over-the-counter (OTC) traders within minutes. ZachXBT believes this move was likely an attempt to evade potential fund freezes by Tether.
