[BlackRock: Bitcoin's Correlation with U.S. Stocks Weakens, Market Sentiment Improving]
According to The Block, Robert Mitchnick, Head of Digital Assets at BlackRock, stated that over the past month, market sentiment for Bitcoin has shown a noticeable yet subtle improvement, and Bitcoin's correlation with U.S. stocks is weakening. This is a positive development for the argument that Bitcoin serves as a portfolio diversification tool and a hedge against tail risks. He pointed out that when the AI sector experienced a significant pullback in July, Bitcoin outperformed notably, exemplifying this decoupling.
Although Bitcoin has dropped nearly 30% year-to-date and approximately 50% compared to a year ago, ETF investors have continued to buy in. Last week, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded an inflow of $853.5 million, marking the best weekly performance since mid-April. Among these, BlackRock's IBIT contributed $693.7 million (over 80% of the total), while Fidelity's FBTC contributed $116.4 million.
