[BlackRock Lowers IBIT In-Kind Redemption Threshold: Minimum $1 Million for BTC-to-ETF Share Conversion]
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on the X platform that Robbie Mitchnick, head of BlackRock's digital asset business, stated that Bitcoin holders can now use the in-kind exchange method to convert BTC into shares of its spot Bitcoin ETF, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). The minimum threshold has been reduced from the previous $25 million to $1 million.
Previously, participation in the IBIT in-kind redemption mechanism required a minimum scale of $25 million. Now, with the threshold lowered to $1 million, more institutional investors and large Bitcoin holders can directly participate in the conversion between BTC and ETF shares.
