Yesterday on Bitget, TUT suddenly spiked to $1 at 3:13 PM, which was three times the spot price. Just now, Bitget announced a compensation plan: they’ll directly compensate based on the price at 3:00 PM, 10 minutes earlier. All users who were force-liquidated due to the spike and meet the criteria can contact customer service to register. This solution, provided in less than 24 hours, is pretty decent. Since contracts and spot trading operate on two separate order books, TUT, being a heavily manipulated coin controlled by whales, can see its sell orders wiped out with just one market buy order. Combined with a chain reaction of liquidations, the price can quickly surge. Technically, this is a market behavior, but it highlights the lack of liquidity. Still, Bitget didn’t go on a long-winded explanation to shirk responsibility—they directly offered compensation to cover losses, which shows a lot of class. I’ve known Jia Yin for so long, and every time we meet offline for events, meals, or chats, it’s always clear that he never just sees himself as an employee. When he talks about his work, he’s full of enthusiasm and energy. He truly embodies the mindset of a 'partner.'
