According to Yonhap News, a South Korean company has been promoting tokens not listed on domestic exchanges through offline presentations for years, promising overseas listings and USDT dividends. One of its previously issued tokens, D token, surged to 20,976 KRW in September 2025 but has dropped to the 200 KRW range as of August 7, marking a 98% decline from its peak. The company is still accused of recruiting investors under the pretext of swapping for new tokens. Previously, the company faced issues as it failed to obtain a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license, leading Gopax to terminate trading support for the related token. From 2022 to May 2026, South Korean crypto exchanges have terminated trading support for 394 tokens, with most cases linked to project risks.
