Apple relinquishes the throne to Nvidia... again. 👑
Not just a bad day. Big Tech is buying up so much AI chip and memory capacity that even Apple, with all its supply chain muscle, says it's basically out of room to work with. Guidance for the current quarter came in at 9 to 11% revenue growth, below the roughly 12% Wall Street wanted, and that's what really hit the stock. Shares fell 7.35%, market cap now $4.537T, and Nvidia ($4.862T) took the top spot back.
Here's the part that should worry investors more though. Services growth slowed even with strong iPhone sales, which almost never happens together. Some analysts are even questioning whether AI itself is pulling people away from the App Store. If that's real, this isn't just a supply chain story anymore.
And it all landed on Tim Cook's last earnings call as CEO, right before he hands things off to John Ternus. Rough way to close out the run.
