[JPMorgan Chase and Other Big Four U.S. Banks Plan to Launch Shared Tokenized Deposit Network in the First Half of 2027]
Odaily Planet Daily News – JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo are collaborating to build a shared tokenized deposit network, operated by The Clearing House, a payments company jointly owned by major banks. The plan is to convert commercial deposits into tokens that can be transferred 24/7 among member banks, with a target launch in the first half of 2027.
The initial users of the network will be multinational corporations, and the product offerings will include programmable treasury management, real-time liquidity management, and cross-border payments. The Clearing House CEO David Watson stated that this project represents a significant initiative for the banking sector.
JPMorgan's Kinexys platform currently processes over $7 billion daily and has handled a total of more than $4 trillion since its launch. Citi Token Services is already operational in the U.S., U.K., Singapore, and Hong Kong, transferring billions of dollars through Citigroup's own network.
