Many people will mix Binance spot US stocks and bStocks together.
But these two things are not actually the same usage scenario.
Simply put:
Binance spot US stocks are more like buying US stock exposure in a Binance account.
bStocks, It's more like tokenizing this US stock exposure and using it on the chain.
The former leans towards the "trading entrance".
The latter leans towards' on chain assets'.
This is the biggest difference.
If you just want to buy US stocks or ETFs on Binance, such as assets like Tesla, Nvidia, Micron, spot US stocks can already meet most of your needs.
It corresponds to real US stocks/ETFs, and liquidity mainly comes from the connection between Binance and the US stock system, making the experience more like holding a US stock position in an account.
But its problem is also very obvious:
It mainly stays in Binance accounts and cannot be directly mentioned on the chain, nor can it directly enter DeFi scenarios.
So it is more suitable for those:
I just want to buy exposure to the US stock market,
I don't want to tinker with my wallet,
No need for on chain combination,
I don't really care about people who work 24/7.
BStocks solves another problem.
It converts US stock exposure into BEP-20 tokens.
That is to say, you can bring it to the BNB Chain wallet, which can be self hosted or enter DeFi scenarios that support bStocks.
This is similar to transforming US stock assets from "in account assets" to "on chain assets".
Its advantage is flexibility:
24/7 trading is available;
Can be circulated on the chain;
Can be combined with DeFi, wallets, mortgages, lending and other scenarios;
It can also be converted 1:1 with spot US stocks.
But brothers, one thing to note:
BStocks does not mean that you directly hold stocks of listed companies.
Although it has 1:1 corresponding real US stock/ETF support behind it, what you hold is tokenized securities, not stocks directly registered in the company's shareholder register.
So don't interpret '1:1 support' as' I am a shareholder '.
These two concepts are different.
There is another easily misunderstood aspect:
24/7 trading does not mean always having the best liquidity.
When the US stock market is closed, the underlying stocks themselves do not trade in real-time, and the price of bStocks depends more on market expectations, market depth, and buying and selling sentiment.
So in the short term, there may be a widening price difference, and even a certain deviation from the main stock.
This is not a bug, it is determined by the structure.
The handling of dividends is also different.
BStocks is usually not cash dividends received, but automatically reflected in the number of holdings through the Multiplier mechanism, which is closer to automatic reinvestment in essence.
So you cannot understand it using the traditional cash dividend logic of the US stock market.
My understanding is:
Binance Spot US Stocks is a simpler entry point for ordinary users into the US stock market.
bStocks, It is to provide encrypted users with a more flexible on chain US stock form.
A solution to 'how to buy US stocks'.
A solution to 'how to use US stock exposure on the chain'.
The real difference is not which one is more advanced.
But what exactly do you need.
If you only want to buy, hold, and see long-term returns, spot US stocks may be simpler.
If you are already in the Crypto system and want 24/7 trading, on chain self custody, DeFi portfolios, and stronger asset liquidity, bStocks would be more suitable.
But the higher the flexibility, the more risk levels there are.
Traditional US stocks mainly focus on companies, markets, securities firms, and settlement systems.
BStocks also depends on the issuer, proof of custody, smart contracts, on chain liquidity, platform rules, and regional restrictions.
Binance's spot US stocks are biased towards the "US stock entrance in the account".
BStocks leans towards' on chain US stock assets'.
They are not substitutes for each other, but two forms of the same US stock exposure in different scenarios.
Only by understanding this difference can we avoid using tools in the wrong place.
