According to BBC, the official website of Kenyan President William Ruto was hacked on July 18, with the homepage altered to display offensive content targeting Ruto. The attackers demanded 5 BTC, worth approximately $320,000, and threatened to leak unspecified government information if the ransom was not received by 6:00 PM local time on the same day. The Kenyan government subsequently took the website offline temporarily and launched a forensic investigation. The Ministry of Information, Communication, and Digital Economy stated that there is currently no evidence of unauthorized access, leakage, or loss of sensitive data, and other government systems and digital services remain operational. Back in November 2025, several Kenyan government websites were also hit by coordinated cyberattacks. https://(wublock123.com)/news/kenya-president-website-hacked-ransom-5-btc-64971
