When the science isn’t settled, the answer is to test, not ban. Instead, the DEA is effectively treating natural 7-OH the same as lab-made synthetic drugs, setting the potency threshold so low it’s a ban in everything but name.
And the threshold itself is the wrong tool, a percentage-by-weight cap can be easily manipulated by adding fillers. A straight milligram cap would actually reflect what a consumer takes, without opening the door to a de facto ban.
It’s time to pump the brakes and do some actual research before the federal government simply bans it.
